Setting up Java Play Framework 1.2.5 on Windows 7

Here is one way to setup Play Framework 1.2.5 on a Windows 7 system.

Instructions

  1. Download Play Framework zip file
  2. Expand zip file
  3. Move the folder play-1.2.5 to desired location. I used C:\Apps
  4. Create a PLAY environmental variable
System -> Advanced system settings -> Environmental Variables
    PLAY : C:\Apps\play-1.2.5
  5. Add the PLAY environmental variable to the Path
(again) System -> Advanced system settings -> Environmental Variables
    PATH : ...etc;%PLAY%
  6. Test Play Framework v1.2.5 is available from a new command prompt window:
    C:\>play

I did that but still didn’t work
    show this

    C:\Users\LAMA>play
Error during sbt execution: Could not find configuration file ‘file:///C:/Users/
    LAMA/Desktop/New%20folder%20(2)/play-2.2.3/framework/sbt/play.boot.properties’.
    Searched:
    file:/C:/Users/LAMA/
    file:/C:/Users/LAMA/
    file:/C:/Users/LAMA/Desktop/New%20folder%20(2)/play-2.2.3/framework/sbt/

    C:\Users\LAMA>

eventhough the file recognized before is found in this path
    file:/C:/Users/LAMA/Desktop/New%20folder%20(2)/play-2.2.3/framework/sbt/
